It seems as if one of Americans greatest natural resources is its never-ending supply of talented youngsters! Joining the ranks of the talented casts of $uch shows as Family Ties, Gimme A Break, Silver Spoons and Diffrent Strokes, just to name a few, are the kids who star on the more recently arrived Kate & Allie,

If you aren't already familiar with them, it's time you got to know Ari Meyers (Emma), Frederick Koehler (Chip) and Allison Smith (Jennie).

On Kate & Allie these three kids all live together in a house in New York City with their mothers, Kate (Susan St. James) and Allie (Jane Curtain), who are two life-long friends, both recently divorced. The show is a comedy, but there are also many warm and touching moments which give insight into the painful elements of divorce.

Ari Meyers, who plays Emma, Kate's daughter, appeared in the motion picture, Author, Author (also about the children of a divorced family), in the made-for-TV movie, License To Kill, and in the GE Theatre production, Running Out. On Kate & Allie, Emma shares a room with Jennie.

Allison Smith plays the part of Jennie, Allie's daughter. Jennie may look familiar to anyone who saw one of the 1000 performances of the Broadway hit Annie, in which Allison appeared. Besides her Broadway work, Allison has also appeared on the TV specials "An Orchestra Is A Team Too" and "Orphans, Waifs And Wards".

Playing the part of Chip, Jennie's brother on Kate & Allie, is Frederick Koehier. Frederick also appeared in Orphans, Waifs And Wards, but probably is better known for his role in the motion picture comedy, Mr. Mom. Frederick also appeared Off-Broadway in Life With Father.

All three youngsters are chockful of talent and have a good chemistry together on the show. Just as in real life, Emma and Jennie, two teenaged girls, often find themselves at odds with younger brother Chip, but in the end it's usually "one for all and all for one."
