As a result of her role of the smart, sensitive teen-ager caught up in the trauma of her mother's many divorces in the feature film, "Author Author!" with Al Pacino and Dyan Cannon, Ari Meyers, who plays Emma McArdle in Kate & Allie, on Monday nights over CBS, was hailed as "a vibrantly engaging, compelling, and genuinely talented young actress."

As a busy young actress living with her mom in New York, Ari (short for Ariadne) finds indoor activities, like Nautilus workouts and aerobics classes, are best for keeping her in shape (though when she gets the chance, she loves to play tennis, scuba dive, and ski).   To add some variety to Ari's workouts, we introduced her to different types of exercise equipment. After warming up, Ari tried a ride on a stationary bicycle. Biking is a terrific way to tone the muscles below the waist, improve cardiovasuclar fitness - and work up a thirst.

Ari, who was born on April 6 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has since starred in four television films: "Kid Don't Tell," "Running Out," "License to Kill," and "Haunted." Ari, who lives in New York City with her mother, actress Tora Meyers, began her career at age five when Ford Model representatives, staffing their new children's division, visited her school and spotted her. After a year and a half of modelling and acting in national television commericals, she gave up "show business" for three years in favor of more traditional childhood pursuits. " Author Author!" followed.

Although her many activities include water skiing, scuba diving, tennis and aerobics, her main hobby is jewelry designing. She crafts necklaces, bracelets and earrings. During the past year, Ari has contributed time to the New York State Governor's Commission Against Drunk Driving and Svae The Children and Tuesday's Child organizations. She has also traveled to various parts of Asia and Mexico for Pacific Asian Tourist Assocations Fund Raising Events in the South Pacific.

She has light brown hari and hazel eyes, is 5' 2" tall and weighs 90 pounds. She attends private school in New York City.
